You can also watch the race in-person for free by heading to anywhere along the River Thames where they will be racing. One of the recommended spots is Putney Embankment which is close to the start line, as well as Dukes Meadows and Chiswick Bridge if you are interested in seeing the finish of the races. The boat race is around 4 miles long in South London and it sees the two teams travel along the Thames from Putney to Mortlake.
There are two sides of the course and the two teams flip a coin before the race to decide which side they will be on.
